Marina Cathedral

Marina CathedralPastor Paul C. Guttke
At one time the Marina Cathedral was your traditional brick-n-mortar church located in Marina Del Rey, California for many years. Over the years, changes in the traditional church model required the Marina Cathedral to shift direction to a “church without walls” bringing about a distributed community of disciples making disciples.

Meeting in hotels, homes, and sometimes out-of-doors, it should be obvious that our focus is not the furniture, or accoutrements of pulpits, altars, and stained glass windows—or carpeted floors and padded pews! Although, the floor is usually carpeted even if with grass!

What matters to us is celebrating the redemptive plan of God involving his whole creation. No sanctuary made with human hands is big enough to contain that. So we meet weekly for worship in various convenient locations to share as family in the life of Jesus through the Holy Spirit in the word of God, praise, prayer, and fellowship. But truly the creation is our sanctuary. You can learn more about Marina Cathedral at

As the Charter Organization, Marina Cathedral “owns” the troop charter and it’s responsibilities include providing quality, leadership for the Scouting unit, and appointing a chartered organization representative to coordinate all Scouting unit operations within the organization.
