AV Boys and Girls Club

About the A.V. Boys and Girls Club

You may be asking, “What does the AV Boys and Girls Club have to do with Boy Scouts of America?”

The Antelope Valley Boys and Girls Club (AVBGC) has been serving the valley’s youth since 1991. With a staff of 40, and over 300 volunteers, the AV Boys and Girls Club reaches over 2,000 of the AV’s youth across 11 locations! The AVBGC’s mission is “…to promote healthy learning and development and to provide an environment that encourages our local children to become strong leaders in our community.”

Troop 111 has partnered with the AV Boys and Girls Club because we believe that together, we can help more youth reach their greatest potential.  Boy Scouts builds on the after school and mentoring programs the AVBGC offers the local youth by providing additional opportunities to practice observing core values in our society. Our Scouts, when they enroll in Troop 111, are part of the AV Boys and Girls Club, and have access to participate in AVBGC programs. Older Scouts and adult Scout leaders are able to participate in mentoring programs and volunteer within the AVBGC.  This partnership is enhanced by providing further opportunities to reach out to the community when we participate in service projects for the AV Boys and Girls Club.
